映画Dreamgirls（ドリームガールズ）を先日視聴しました。

ドリームガールズに出演していたJamie Foxx（ジェイミー・フォックス）の主演映画Ray（レイ）を昨日視聴しました。
英語学習のために字幕なしで観ました。
Ray（レイ）は2004年制作のアメリカ映画で2004年に亡くなったミュージシャンRay Charles（レイ・チャールズ）の伝記映画(Biopic)です。
この作品でレイ・チャールズを演じたジェイミー・フォックスはアカデミー主演男優賞を受賞しています。

復習も兼ねて英文を音読してみました。

Ray is a 2004 biopic focusing on thirty years of the life of legendary rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles.
The independently-produced film was directed by Taylor Hackford and starred Jamie Foxx in the title role; Foxx received an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance.

映画Dreamgirls（ドリームガールズ ）を英語の勉強に観ました。

ブロードウェイ・ミュージカル作品の『ドリームガールズ』を原作とした作品です。
作品の出演者もよかったです。
Jamie Foxx（ジェイミー・フォックス）、Beyonce Knowles（ビヨンセ）、Eddie Murphy（エディ・マーフィ）、そしてJennifer Hudson（ジェニファー・ハドソン）。
日本ではアカデミー賞の助演女優賞でBabelの菊池凛子が騒がれましたが、 ジェニファー・ハドソンが獲得したのも納得です。

復習も兼ねて英文を音読しました。

Dreamgirls is a 2006 Golden Globe and Academy Award winning American musical film jointly produced and released by DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures. The film debuted in three special road show engagements beginning December 15, 2006, with a nationwide release on December 25, 2006 and a home video release on May 1, 2007. Dreamgirls won three awards at the 64th Golden Globe Awards ceremony in 2007, including Best Picture - Musical or Comedy, and won two Oscars at the 79th Academy Awards.

Leonardo DiCaprio（レオナルド・ディカプリオ）主演の映画Blood Diamond（ブラッド・ダイヤモンド）を英語の勉強も兼ねて視聴しました。

ブラッド・ダイヤモンド（血のダイヤモンド・紛争ダイヤモンド）についても勉強してみました。

A blood diamond (also called a conflict diamond, dirty diamond or a war diamond) is a diamond mined in a war zone and sold, usually clandestinely, in order to finance an insurgent, invading army's war efforts or for warlord-like activity.

映画についても復習を兼ねて英文を音読しました。

Blood Diamond is an Academy Award-nominated 2006 film directed and produced by Edward Zwick. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou. The title refers to blood diamonds, which are diamonds mined in war zones and sold to finance the conflicts. On January 23, 2007, it was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Best Supporting Actor (Djimon Hounsou).

サウンドトラックの曲のひとつDiamonds From Sierra Leoneを歌うラッパーのKanye West（カニエ・ウェスト） の英文も読みました。
ハリケーン・カトリーナがアメリカ南部を襲った際テレビ生放送中のブッシュ大統領を非難するコメントについて記載してありました。
